Hello, Dear Ones,
Some adventures have taken place. Over the Labor Day weekend, Mark and I flew
to Chicago for me to take a shoemaking class from the Chicago School of Shoemaking.
What a wonderful time! The instructor was very knowledgable and communicated well.
It took me for long days, but I finally made my first pair of real shoes!

Working with machines I was unfamiliar with
(vacuum sealer, grinder, and more), I learned how
to shape the sole and the leather. It really was a
magnificent adventure.
On Facebook, I joined several groups that sell
leather hides, piece, hardware and tools. I love
all their wares. So, I purchased some Brazilian
hair-on-hide (HOH) that is so soft. Magenta with
spots. So, I made a new weekender bag for me to
carry on my adventures. Next up? I want to make
some shoes from that leather.
From the Wright clan, we have some news. Our
son, and his wife – Neal and Abigail – are expecting
a baby in March 2025. We’re excited and eager
to know gender and meet the wee one.
Kaitlyn, our baby girl, is also expecting. Her
due date is in February and she’s having TWINS!
Two little girls. She’s over the moon, as are we.
Her husband is great with handling girls, so
everyone’s happy

Autumn time is coming and we’re
ready. The farm is slowing down.
Summer growing is nearly finished.
The fruit trees and potted veggies
will be in the greenhouse soon.
Enjoy this time with your
family.
Love from our house to yours,
Mark, Kym & Kyds Mark, Kym & Kyds
